• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on various international trade agreements, including the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreements (e,g. Services (GATS), Investment (TRIMs), Intellectual Property (TRIPs), Government Procurement (GPA)) and  the Canadian Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT)
• Providing technical assistance and capacity-building advice to developing country governments and international organizations on WTO accession issues and designing and implementing trade laws
• Advice to individuals, companies, trade associations, governments on negotiating international trade agreements, e.g. the Canada- European Union (EU) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP)

• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on allegations of cartel behavior and other anti-competitive distribution and pricing practices
• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on the notification and review of mergers and acquisitions
• Advising governments and international organizations on competition legislation and legislative reform
• Advising governments and international organizations on enforcement guidelines, practices and procedures
• Providing technical assistance and capacity-building advice to governments and international organizations on designing, conducting and assessing training programs on the enforcement of competition laws

Investment

• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on the “Chapter 11” Investor-State Arbitration provisions of the NAFTA
• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on the investment provisions of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Services (GATS) and Investment (TRIMs) agreements
• Advising individuals, companies and law firms on the investment provisions of the Canadian Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT)
• Providing technical assistance and capacity-building advice to governments and international organizations on WTO accession issues and designing and implementing trade laws

Government Finance

• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on accessing government loans and grants to industry and to companies for investment, manufacturing and research & development

Government Procurement

• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations with respect to procurement by the Government of Canada and the Province of Ontario
• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on issues arising under the World Trade Organization (WTO) Government Procurement (GPA)) and  the Canadian Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT)
• Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on issues arising under the Canada-U.S. Agreement on Government Procurement

Compliance

Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on the design of programs on compliance arising out of national and international trade, competition and investment agreements.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on corporate social responsibility programs and compliance arising out Canadian, U.S. and other enforcement issues relating to “white collar crime”, e.g. anti-money laundering (AML), bribery and corruption (The Canadian Corruption of Foreign Public Officials Act (CFPOA), US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the OECD Bribery Convention) and foreign asset controls, and economic sanctions.

Corporate Governance

Advising individuals, companies and trade associations on corporate governance issues, particularly with respect to Not-for-Profit Corporations and other Social Enterprises in Ontario and Canada.
