Mark Warner interviewed on CBC News on the signing of the Protocol of Amendments to the United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) and remaining steps to ratifying the trade agreement. Mark Warner was interviewed by CBC News on the delay in the preliminary implementation of the Canada-European Union Trade Agreement (CETA) in connection with Prime Minister Trudeau’s meeting with the new Prime Minister of Ireland, Leo Varadkar. (July 3, 2017) At the subsequent G20 Meeting in Hamburg Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission and Prime Minister agreed to set the date of 21 September 2017 to start the provisional application of the CETA “thus allowing for all the necessary implementing measures to be taken before that date.” Mr. Warner was Legal Director of the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development & Trade and advised Ontario in the CETA negotiations and on several NAFTA Chapter 11 Investor-State arbitrations.
