On August 18th, USTR Lighthizer formally initiated an investigation of China under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974. On September 13th, President Trump prohibited the proposed acquisition of Lattice Semiconductor Corporation by China Venture Capital Fund Corporation Limited pursuant to a recommendation of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
